Orius is proud to announce the delivery and commissioning of two Biomebox® cultivation units at CIRAD Martinique, strengthening research capabilities in tropical plant science.

Project objectives

CIRAD Martinique issued a tender for the supply, commissioning, and training of two plant growth chambers (phytotrons), aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of biostimulants in helping plants cope with various abiotic stresses.

Orius provided two high-precision Biomebox® units, designed to meet stringent environmental requirements:

• Temperature: +5°C to +40°C, ±1°C precision
• Humidity: 40% to 95%, ±5% precision
• CO₂ concentration: up to 2,000 ppm
• Light intensity: 0 to 1,100 μmol/m²/s (measured at 15 cm from the source)

The units were engineered to maximize cultivation space while minimizing footprint, ensuring efficient and space-saving setups. The complete project — including design, fabrication, shipping to Martinique, and installation — was completed in just four months, with commissioning in August 2025.
